Litchfield Jazz Festival

“Nothing beats the Litchfield Jazz Festival…an ongoing tradition for those in the know.”

– JazzImprov

The first Litchfield Jazz Festival was held in the summer of 1996.  Organized by the Litchfield Performing Arts group with monetary assistance from The Connecticut Commission on the Arts, a local tradition was born.  1996’s Litchfield Jazz Festival line up included Marian McPartland and Tony Bennett, and received a successful turnout.  Read the full history of the Litchfield Jazz Festival on the Litchfield Jazz Festival website here.

This year’s Litchfield Jazz Festival will take place Friday, August 8th through Sunday, August 10th.

Over the years, this community event has blossomed into an annual event so large the venue space has been increased.  Featuring well-known artists as well as premiering bands and artists, the Litchfield Jazz Festival is a true cultural experience.  This year, the Litchfield Jazz Festival will host acts such as the Cyrus Chestnut Trio, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Anthony Strong, the Jimmy Greene Quartet, and more.  Complete with a Main Stage, Student Stage, and Artist Talks, there is so much to do, you may have to budget your time.  View the full 2014 line up here.
