Litchfield Jazz Festival Opening Night: Swing is King!

The Litchfield Jazz Festival’s 17th Anniversary will be held on August 10-12 at the Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, CT. The Festival line-up features the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, swing sensation Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Artist-in-Residence Gary Smulyan, Miguel Zenon and many more.  Ticket holders will also enjoy crafts, fine art, kids music and movement workshops, a variety of flavorful foods, performances by Camp students, artist talks. after parties and jams.

Opening Night, Swing is King!

New this year, there will be two dance floors, a professional dance company from NYC will give free swing dance lessons (6:30 – 7:15 PM), the music will feature two 1920’s and 30’s inspired acts – The Four Freshmen at 7:30 pm and Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (who just won a 2012 Grammy for the soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) at 9:30 PM.

The Festival launches 3 auctions – one online from Aug 1-15, and two Fri. Aug. 10, a silent auction all evening and a live auction between the two Mainstage acts from 8:30 – 9 PM.  Great trips to Hawaii and the Bahamas, jazz memorabilia, autographed instruments, tickets to shows, private parties with food and music, and more.  All proceeds support need-based scholarships at Litchfield Jazz Camp.

Guest Host

Special Guest Host at the Friends of the Festival Gala, actor-musician Dominic Chianese, best known as Uncle Junior on HBO’s The Sopranos, and more recently fans of the critically acclaimed HBO crime series “Boardwalk Empire,” will know him as shifty attorney Leander Cephas Whitlock.
