Lyman Center Fall Jazz Series Kicks Off

The opening night of the Lyman Center Fall jazz series was a double bill.

Opening the evening was the sublime David Benoit who delighted us with both past and present tunes from his piano keyboard. Benoit’s trio was a fitting start to the 4 performance series which opened on Saturday, September 29th.

Next on the bill was sax man Richard Elliott. Richard brought his own brand of funky, soulful Jazz to the stage with a backup of very accomplished musicians. The relaxed & chilled atmosphere in the audience from Benoit’s performance was quickly replaced with high energy and plenty of seat dancing. Elliott was all over the stage playing to very side of the venue so we all had our fair share of up close and personal.

Great start for the Lyman and looking forward to Keiko Matsui, George Duke and the Jonathan Butler Christmas show in the months to come.

Enjoy the Music. Enjoy it Live!!!
